Private aviation 101

Third Door Society14 September 20256 min

When it makes sense

Private aviation is not always about luxury. Sometimes it is about access: remote lodges, multiple safari camps, islands without scheduled flights, or routes where commercial airlines add a day of travel.

Types of private aviation

**Charter.** On-demand aircraft for a specific trip. Best for flexibility.

**Jet card.** Pre-purchased hours on a fleet. Best for frequent travellers.

**Membership.** Subscription models with fixed rates. Best for predictable travel.

**Scheduled charter.** Shared flights to specific destinations. Best for safaris and remote lodges.

What we arrange

We can charter aircraft for airport transfers, multi-camp safaris, island hops, or alpine access. We also arrange helicopter transfers for hotels, ski resorts, and hard-to-reach retreats.

The real value

The value is time and flexibility. A private flight can turn a four-day commercial itinerary into a two-day trip. It can also make a remote destination feel effortless.

Sustainability

We are honest about the environmental impact. We recommend private aviation only when it genuinely improves the trip, and we encourage carbon offsetting through reputable providers.
